“DVB digital technology is here to stay!”

The DVB’s role in moving Eastern Europe to a digital platform.

The DVB is an industry-led consortium of around 300 companies - across over 40 countries - that have come together to establish common international standards for the move from analogue to digital broadcasting.

Questions include:

• Could you give us a brief description of the process by which DVB standards are developed?



• The development of digital television in Eastern Europe is slow, and some countries have not yet planned the deployment of digital terrestrial services. How do you believe the DVB Project has a role in encouraging digital technology in these countries?



• Ultimately, why do you believe it is so important for Eastern Europe and indeed the world, to move to a digital platform?
