Sales and the 'Talent Magnet'

A lot is written about being a ‘Talent Magnet’, either as a company, or as President. It’s all good practice – listen, mentor, reward, provide clear goals and career maps. Good practice for the employer, but what about the employee?

Mobile Dialers

In recent years, there has been a dramatic surge in accessing the internet utilizing mobile handsets. Mobile phone manufacturers have met this demand by creating user friendly multiple functional units. These models enable end users to access the VOIP environment via either Wifi, 3G, Edge or even GPRS. A mobile dialer is a "Softphone" downloaded onto a mobile phone which enables the end user to converse via VOIP hence bypassing the GSM or mobile network. The mobile dialer works in the same fashion as a softphone downloaded onto a PC. Voipswitch's mobile dialer, easily downloaded onto the mobile unit, gives the end user the possibility of making calls over the IP network. The benefits are tremendous, call costs are reduced substantially and connectivity within the VOIP cloud is almost endless. With the expansion of Wifi hot spots in numerous global areas, including cities, airports, hotels and local public venues, consumer demand for VOIP cellular phones has reached unprecedented levels. In addition to mobile units, there is a wide range of PDA's and smart-phones with Wifi access features included, that have processors fast enough to utilize real-time applications. These units have highly compressed voice codecs, which consume limited bandwidth, thus enabling outbound and incoming calls to pass easily over lower speed data packet networks. Once within the VOIP environment, and the "dialer softphone" has been initialized, the end user can benefit from the VOIP arena with all its bonuses. Not only can one make international calls at significantly lower cost than those offered by GSM operators, one can also communicate at zero cost with other VOIP registered users and connect to an IP PBX from remote locations. These functions are of significant benefit, especially for enterprises. Additional complimentary services, for example SMS over IP, and instant messaging make the VoIP even more attractive for this group of customers.

Voiceserve's Voipswitch award winning solutions, one of the leaders in the VoIP software development industry, responded to the tremendous opportunity within the mobile VoIP technology. A family of mobile VoIP applications called "Vippie Mobile" has recently been released and is compatible with the most popular operating systems, including Windows Mobile, Symbian and Iphone cellular units.

The Vippie Mobile dialer creates new revenue opportunities for service providers. Their services can be extended to private consumers as well as multi-tier corporations. The mobile dialer technology provides the best of both worlds - voip efficiency combined with mobile phone connectivity. These translate into a competitive high-performance solution reducing communication costs drastically.

Voipswitch's efforts were recognized by the VoIP community and Vippie Mobile received the TMC LABS INNOVATION AWARD in 2009.

The main features of the Vippie Mobile dialers include:

  • making and receiving SIP calls,
  • built-in tunnel for passing thru voip blockades*
  • connectivity via WIFI, 3G, EDGE and GPRS,
  • sending and receiving SMS,
  • integrated contacts from the phone directory,
  • loudspeaker,
  • speed dial,
  • balance information,
  • destination rate,
  • call status logs,
  • predefined links for external web pages,
  • pre-defined IVR or hot-dial numbers (support, recharge etc.)
  • support for  codecs g729, ARM, GSM and g711,
  • direct access to call data records, payments history and account profile through Flash VSPortal,
  • independent Symbian Nokia certificate per provider.

An optional additional feature is the "Tunneling technology". The tunnel decreases the bandwidth usage, thus improving voice quality in weak internet access environments. The tunnel enables communication for both making and receiving calls originating in blocked areas.

Voiceserve offers its service providers personalized customization of the soft-phone's functionality, by adding support for external address books in various formats.  The softphones can work with any SIP compliant IP PBX for enterprise use, allowing employees to have a remote extension on their mobile phones.

The softphones are offered for VoIP providers and to Telecom companies looking for additional revenue source by expanding their services.

"The explosive growth in demand for Mobile dialers has continued unabated. The Iphone dialer was developed to enhance the Voipswitch features and assist softswitch customers serve the wider telecom community." said Mr. Alexander Ellinson President of Voiceserve Inc. "The Vippie Mobile, allows operators to cost-effectively extend their services to new areas, creating greater revenue opportunities. The sophisticated dialer means more possibilities of communicating within the Voipswitch framework, resulting in more efficient ways of globally connecting."

Voiceserve's Voipswitch IP-PBX

PBX is actually an acronym for the term Private Branch Exchange. A Private Branch Exchange (PBX) is a telephone exchange that operates a local business or office's telephony service. PBX is the technical term for a phone system. A PBX is used to make connections among the internal telephones of a private organization. Utilizing a PBX, a company can save considerable cost savings on internal phone calls. PBX systems handle the circuit switching locally reducing chargers for local phone service. Another advantage of utilizing a PBX phone system is that it allows a company to share trunk lines (external lines) for all its employees, maximizing usage of dedicated phone lines. IP PBX phone systems can switch calls between a VoIP user and a traditional telephone user, in the same way a traditional PBX system works. Replacing traditional PBX systems, IP PBX allows calls to be sent via data packets over a data network instead of the traditional phone network. The real advantage of an IP PBX or a VoIP PBX is that it utilizes a single network for both voice and data.

The full list of available IP-PBX features, are listed below:
